Little Wonders 2010

I have a few pieces of art that will be up for display and on sale this coming Tuesday at the 'Little Wonders' Small Works Exhibit along with other artists @ LITM in downtown Jersey City. If you're in the area, hope you can come out. It should be a fun night. :)

IF : Spent

For this week's Illustration Friday I have an illustration to share that was done for my texas assignment. Took only a few hundred shots at the Stockyards Rodeo playing with my DSLR to get the reference photo :)

IF: Racing

The topic for Illustration Friday this week was perfect to share an illustration I created of one of my favorite people.

Exquisite Corpse / Existential Dread

This weekend I got to see how my torso piece paired up with another artist's head and legs. See below, along with some other great corpse collaborations and artwork that was displayed in the space.

head: Julio / torso: Eileen San Felipe / legs: Josh Tedeschi

head: Virginia Kamentzer / legs: Andrea Morin

Below are the awesome duo of Ken Bastard and Megan Gullick, working live on their collaborative art displayed in their show "Battered Bunnies," with some thought provoking subject matter. I've always liked how their 2 very different styles work together in the artwork they create.

Exquisite Corpse 2010

The Jersey City Studio Arts Tour is going on this weekend which is a lot of fun. Last year I was able to see some great work from local artists around JC displayed in galleries and in some cases, personal home studios. It's really nice when you are able to get a feel of where an artist creates his/her work.

I have a piece that will be displayed at the Exquisite Corpse/Existential Dread Show being held at the Piece Studio located at 190 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City. Hope you can come check it out :)

Here is my completed Torso piece for the show. I can't wait to see what her head and legs will turn out to be...

the Catz

I've been fortunate to be able to spend some time in the Catskills this summer thanks to my best friend Theresa who has a beautiful house near a lake. One of my favorite books growing up was the Country Mouse and the City Mouse, and finding a balance between the two has always been key in my life. I love the outdoors, but finding late night sushi is almost impossible in the sticks....Nothing beats the amazing views and clean air though...
